For the average s2000 driver, are OEM tires really worth the 2X price of something like the Yoko AVS ES100, considering the fact that the Yokohamas are 2X the treadwear rating?

That's like spending 4X what you need to if you aren't driving at the limit all the time.

I have an opinion that tire technology is evolving quickly enough that tires released to the market 3 years or more ago are no longer worth spending the extra money for...
