I just got my Advans mounted up and I thought I'd share these pictures to compare sizes.
This is an OEM Bridgestone RE050 245/40/17 vs Dunlop Star Spec 255/40/70 vs Continental Contisport 3 275/30/19. (yes my 19" HREs had more clearance than the 255 Advans)
This was even more astounding to me though. This is:
OEM Bridgestone RE050 215/45/17 vs Dunlop Star Spec 225/45/17 vs Continental ContiSport 3 235/35/19
Notice the HUGE difference in an OEM 215 and the (only one size larger) 225 Star Spec?
I also weighed everything with tires on, if anybody is curious about wheel weights with tires just ask. Suffice to say the Advans with the bigger tires are actually about 3lbs lighter per corner than the OEM wheels and tires despite having a larger tire.
