Default Question about 17" SSR Competition (available in Japan)

I guess this is a question for Jim. On SSR's Japanese website, they show the availability of a 17x8.5 5x114.3 +55mm SSR Type-C wheel. Those specs look pretty close to me for a rear wheel and I was wondering if Tire Rack offers this particular model for sale.

Don't go by the SSR Japan website for TireRack availability. TireRack gets their own specs and only receive their own specs.

I'm highly interested in the same wheels. It is listed as an s2000 specific application on their site:

S2000 5 / 114.3
17x7.5+48 215/45-17 17x8.5+55 225/40-17
or
18x7.5+48 215/40-18 18x8.5+48 225/40-18

although I'd go with different tire sizes. These are the wheels I want, and last time I checked, the SSR retail price on their site was about 184,000 yein for the set, approximately $1500. So we should be able to get the set for less than that through someone else. The 17" application is perfect, although the 18" isn't that great in the rear offset Hey, maybe we can get a two-person group buy going. Interested? shoot me an email. I want mine in white!

Contact Hennessey or 4igs. Henessey was the 1st person interested in a gb for it about a week ago. 4igs said he'd do a gb if there was enough interest. Do a search in the for sale forum for SSR Type C's by date & it should be there.

We are looking into the wheel. We have also asked them for a 17X9 for the car. I will post it if we do get the 17" fitments

Will they be lighter than the CE-28n's?
