The tires are for my brothers IS300, tirerack recommends 205/50/17, and the alternate size that can be used is 215/45/17.

I found a set on ebay that are 215/50/17. Is there any problems with using this size tire for winter tires?

It would not fit the car correctly. The 215/50R17 would be a full inch taller than stock.
