Default Question for Jim

Sorry for the long post just wanted to get some advice from you...

First off, Tire Rack has been excellent to deal with (customer since 2001) and now my friends, co-workers, and close family use you guys for our tire needs based on the experience you have consistently given me.

I have a 2004 s2000 on 18x7.5 +50f and 18x8.5 +52r Volk LE28n's. Bridgestone RE050A's 225/40 and 255/35.

I am going to be selling my 04 and getting a 09 s2000. It's almost time for some new tires and I am contemplating changing out my wheels as well. I love the Volks but I am considering a Kraftwerks Supercharger for the 09 s2000 and want to get your opions on difference in ride, handling, and traction performance between my current wheel and tire setup sizes versus a new setup I was thinking of.

1st: Would you recommend the Michelin PS2 in the above mentioned sizes as a better tire than staying with Bridgestone?

2nd: I was considering going with Work Meister S1 3pc in 18x8 +56f and 18x9.5 +62r.

Would the added width in the rear be beneficial for the extra hp and torque from the supercharger or would it be detrimental due to a heavier wheel than the Volk?

Would the 225/40 255/35 still be a good setup for the increased widths of the front and rear?

Would a 18.x8 up front handle any differently than a 18x7.5?

I don't want to roll my fenders or modify the car and I am lowered on Tein Flex suspension at Teins recommended height. Sorry for so many questions and thanks in advance for taking your time to answer them.

Ryan

I will start with the tires. I like the PS2 but I don't think they are going to be better than the Pole Position, they will be comparable. They are better choices if you are going to be tracking the car.

For the wheels the 18" is going to give you better turn in response. The handling differences will depend on the specific tire you choose and the weights of the wheels.

If I can help just let me know.
