The local NASA AZ guys are not that fond of the R888....most prefer the RA-1 or the Nitto NT-01

I have driven on all three, I prefer the Nitto, followed by the RA-1, then the R888

as for the tire lasting on the street......who knows what the actual driving condidtions were....in all reality 2000kms might have been really good....it is a dedicated track tire not a STREET tire

Toyo really tried hard to update the RA. The paper specs all look much better for the 888, but the optimization was odd for many people as I tried to show with the links.

Tires are such a personal issue (as I posted to much noise on my experience with StarSpecs, great tire not precise). I think the slip angle issue killed the 888. A tight, precise driver gets more out of them.
