Recommendations on CHEAP snow tires?
Ok, as many of you may have noticed, I have been hot on the hunt for a used s2000. I think that I may have finally found what I'm looking for as I have four different possibilities lined up right now.
Here's the catch: I live in austin texas, where I obviously have no need for snow tires. The problem is that I'm in ST. Louis until the 13th and would really like to have my car shipped here so that I can enjoy it sooner (and show it off to my gf who also loves cars
). Unfortunately, there are 3 inches of fresh snow on the ground right now and its still coming down from here through oklahoma (which is my normal route home). I also may be purchasing in chicago and driving it down here.
So my question is: what are some cheap snow tires that will get me safely home without killing my wallet. I only need them for less than two thousand miles, but i'd like to get a new car home in one piece! I suppose what I might do is buy the snow tires and ship my so2's home and then switch back and sell off the snow tires. Thanks!

My sincere advice would be to wait for the snow to disapper. It's going to be a new car for you and since you're not used to driving in the snow (let alone a light weight RWD sports car) it does not sound like a good idea. If you still wanna try, you're looking at spending at least $500 ($800 would be realistic).
