try Yoko/AVS Intermediate

The treadwear index is 160. It is a fairly soft tire and cheap.

I was thinking of trying the AVS Intermediate.
What tire size would everyone recommend? We all know the 225 OEM tire is MUCH wider than other 225s out there...

I have no experience with the Yoko AVS on the S2000, just tons of experience with the Yoko AVS on the CRX-Si. Great tire for the price! Both on the street and on the track in the rain.

I've been happy with my Kumho Ecsta 712s.
245/45 in the rear.
a little less dry grip than the s-02's, but a LOT less $ too.
They've always been forgiving when they do let go, it's a gradual thing and usually prety easy to get back under control.
in the wet they outgrip the s-02's.
Mine came from tire rack.
1 thing about the Ecstas is they're noisy if they slip. Spin or slide the least bit and you'll hear them squeal.
I read a lot on hear and some people absolutely hated them, others said they were ok, I like mine. They're definitely outlasting the S-02's.
Here in Fla, with a S2K is my daily driver, I was happy to sacrifice a little dry traction for wet/longevity.

I was thinking about getting Kumho Ecsta 712s as well for fall/winter. How long do these puppies last and how does the tread pattern look? I hate the way the S0-3s look.

The absolute best handling tire that we have tested in both wet and dry is the Bridgestone S-03 Pole Position. They are 165.00 front and 185.00 rear and we have them in stock. If I can help let me know. You can see our tire test on our web site with the S-03, Pilot Sport and Pirelli P-Zero Rosso.
Thank you

WRS2K,
The Kumho would be one of the longer wearing performance tires but will give you no snow or cold or ice traction. Price wise you can't beat them and they are excellent in the wet with a good ride quality.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

Yes, the new tire has a newer designed rubber compound and a more solid outside shoulder and the dual rubber compound improved the handling in wet and dry. You can read about the technology of the tire on our web site.
