Replacement tires
Are you talking about the S-03 versus the Honda OEM S-02 for the S2000, on the S2000, or some other variant of the S-02?
We've had several reviews posted here by S2000 owners saying that the S-03 is better in the wet than the OEM S-02, but has less ultimate grip.
There is also the issue of relative tread area front to back...
Thanks,
Ted

Welcome to Jim@tirerack-
I can't even begin to count on all my toes and fingers the amount of tires I have bought from you folks over the past 12 years.
The way you are watching the forum and jumping in with info is greatly appreciated!
So what would you suggest as an answer to the original question?
good grip on the dry- not great grip like S-02 (longer lasting than S-02)
good grip in the wet
good value, reasonable price
what size for OEM wheel?

i went with the toyo t1-s proxes highr tread life and very similar tread pattern to the s02's
haven't tried them in the rain and they can get pricey
I got stock size and the retail on them was around 800 with mount and balance(thank god I know people I only paid $550)

Sorry guys but I get a little busy. The S-03 is a better all around handling tire. The S-03 is acually wider than the OE front tire by 1/2" and narrower on the rear by 1/2". We do alot of tire testing and we have not seen a better handling street tire than the S-03. We get a chance to drive the tires back to back in the exact same cars so it is a true test. If someone else put the S-03 on there car and there first impression is they are not as good as the OE tires I would say the S-03 is not broke in yet and you are comparing it to a worn out no tread depth S-02.
I would say the S-03 with the newer technology would be better.
Let me know if I can help.
By the way, tahnks for the welcome. I will try to answer in a timely manner.

have any of you guys tried the Falken Azenis? I put some 215/45R16 on my ITR and it's just as good, if not better than the stock Potenza RE010s. I put a good 250+ miles of track time on a set of Azenis at Buttonwillow. While the guys w/ RE010s tires chunked and fell apart, the Azenis kept going and still looked almost brand new at the end of the day.
I think they come in the stock sizes for S2K's.

Could somebody more knowledgeable than I explain the posts above that recommend 245/45/16 tires in the rear over the original 225 size? Is this on the original wheels? Are there any downsides to doing this? Will this work ok with any tire?
Thanks,
Steve
