Default Replacing tyres on OEM 2004 alloys

Hi guys, I want to replace the tyres on some 2004 alloys. I'm looking for very good wet weather performance, but generally a good all round tyre. Should I stick with the RE050s or what would you recommend? Are the new Toyo T1-R any good?

Also, should I stick to the same sizes if I change from the RE050. i.e 215/45/R17
and 245/40/R17

Thanks
