iirc rota used to be a supplier for volk wheels back in the 90's before they started inhouse production

I PERSONALLY would fork out for the Volks, just so i can say i have volks lol...but i wont bash people who buy the rotas. They are spending their money in a way they deem nessesary and well placed.

These are still the real thing, the Rota thing that is lol. Nothing wrong with that.

There is TONS of ebay companies that do that...OBX copies many different copmanies for example.

Its all about making that chedder, im sure the people at Rota could give 2 shits about our opinions, because they are probably making bank

 

this one of the only car forums thats get its panites in a bunch over rotas. go over to evom half those guys are on rotas, same with most suby guys.

 

For you guys who cry about the copycats...Why!!! Why do you guys care about what other people put on their cars or why replicas are made......Not everyone has the cash to go authentic and therefore at least they can get something close thats within their budget. Who gives a fack what they put on their car, its their car and you don't make their payments for them ......

its more like s2000 owners are the only stuck up car guys out there. honestly are you a better human being at the end of the day cause you spent 4k on wheels and tires for your car? **** no. its just money and possesions, who really gives a **** what kinda wheels you put on your car as long as they are the correct size/fitment.

I still worry about cast wheels that look the same as forged wheels. I don't care about the brand or price... just quality and safety. I don't think I would ever go from OEM BBS sti wheels to Rota. Why downgrade? Sorry BBS > Rota.

 

*shrug* the OEM wheels Honda put on your(and mien) S2000 are not forged - and they do just fine. Enkei makes other non-forged wheels(like RPF1s) and I don't see people picketing them...

I think it's worth pointing out that TANSTAAFL(there ain't no such thing as a free lunch ). The rotas you buy are constructed in a different manner, are heaver and are a 'replicas'. It's your call if this is acceptable to you. Personally I've done many track days with people on Rotas and really haven't heard anything bad.
