Um, must be missing something here. If the outer diameter of the tire is the same, why will it throw off gearing/speedo? The overall size is the same, just more rim and less rubber.

Offset worked very well with the S2K w/o modification at stock height. For tires I chose 225/40/18's on the front and 255/35/18's on the rear. This tire combo looked fine in the front, but there was a bit too much gap in the back. The next set of tires on the rear were 255/45/18's and these did rub a bit but looked awesome. I relocated the bumper tab and trimmed the plastic fender a bit, and that helped. Rears were significantly more burly than the fronts and this really emphasized the staggered look. I think 255/40/18's will end up being the best of both worlds, but I haven't tried these yet.

The outer diameter of the tires you mentioned (255/40/18 vs 255/45/18 vs 255/35/18) are not all the same. 255/35/18 is going to be pretty close to factory outer diameter, and the 255/40/18 is going to be larger, while the 255/45/18 is going to be larger than even that.

Ah, I see. I forgot that I mentioned that I had been looking at bigger tires a couple of posts up! LOL. Sorry. I meant that the 255/35/18's on the back were pretty close to stock. Increasing the aspect ratio definitely makes the tire bigger. The 255/45's did look awesome though, and I guess they helped keep the miles off the car!

I think the car looks fine with 17" and 18". Below is a link to the wheels we carry for the car. If I can help let me know.
