18x9 or 9.5 wheels and 265s are now the preferred size for the S2000 in Japan. It does take a little more tuning to get the car balanced out as the larger diameter can make it feel somewhat skittish from what I hear, but if you ask me that is because most are simply leaving all the settings the same but changing rim sizes without doing a lot of testing. I personally think that a 255 R-Compound tire is plenty for the S2000 so I don't really see the need to pay more for 18" wheels and tires. However, I do plan on jumping up to a much wider 18" wheel in the future.
The problem is that there is currently only one serious DOT on the market in a 255/40R17 (BFG R1). Hoosier and Hankook only make a 245 or a 275 (which means you need an 18 inch rim to keep the aspect ratio down).

I have no experience with the KW coilovers so I can't help you there but if you go tot the R&C forum, Billy Johnson has listed a ton of info there.

You just need to search for it and you'll find even more that will be helpful. You will also find lots of alignment suggestions there. It all depends on what you plan to do with the car. Since your running R888s, I would assume that you are gonna be doing some track events which means you need a min of -3° of camber all around.
