You get what you pay for in the end really. But just because Rotas are a bit more inexpensive doesnt mean they wont last. It just a matter of how you drive and how you maintain your wheels. A 900 dollar set of wheels would be as awesome as say 3k set as long as it is done right and tastefully. Thats the beauty of choices.

Thanks.

I really like the looks of the D2s and Urban Import tells me the weights are 20 (f) and 22 ( r ) pounds compared to my stock 16s at 17.6 and 20.5 pounds. From the dire reports given on this site about the wheels being "heavy", I thought they were going to be far more than that. Given that the 18" tires I'm likely to run weigh 1-2 pounds more than my stock SO2s...total additional weight is 14 pounds more compared to my stock 16s. I don't think I'll notice 14 pounds of difference in my day-to-day driving. If I become concerned, I can always remove the spare tire.....or lose weight as I need to lose 15 #s anyway. I'm also planning to keep my stock 16s for the track, should I ever decide to do that in my car.

Or will I really notice 3-4 pounds extra weight at each corner? Wouldn't think so....

Update: I finally put my Hyperblack Rota D2s on with Sumitomo HTRZ III 225/40/18 fronts and 255/35/18 rears. These are some quick pictures as it was cold and raining when I took the car home. They look nice and beefy! Absolutely NO rubbing. I'm also going center capless for now, it's gives me time to shave down two of the center caps to fit the rears.

BTW, what on earth happened to Urbanimport's thread, it's gone along with all his posts! Was he banned or something? I bought the wheels from UI in December and got good service other than a holiday-related delay in shipping, couldn't be helped.

Anyhoo, pics. And no, I'm not planning to lower the car, it's just fine stock.
