Default S-02s Worn ?

Just put my S-02s on for summer. My nearly new LM-22s spoiled me with a very smooth quiet ride. My original S-02 fronts have 30K mi on em. Rears have 7K mi.

Been driving for a couple days and I feel as if I can feel every pebble under the front tires. Also feels as if the front steering is very light esp at HW speed (75-80mph). Tread looks decent and my Bridgestone dealer who swaps winters/summers said I have another summer left in them. Its been in 50's(F) past few days here.

Also, the brakes, while still very strong, feel different. I can feel every square inch of the brake pad sliding over disc through brake pedal. Visual inspection checks out A-OK.

Am I losing it? Or do I need new S-02s up front.

thanks

Have you checked the inner-tread? I thought my first set was fine until i checked the inner part of the tire. Bald!

You are just experiencing difference between S02 and LM22.

Typical. That is why SO2 gives you so much control and feel of the road vs. Blizzaks you own.

I have LM22 as well. Wonderful tires. I am about to switch them to RE570. SO2 was wonderful in dry weather but that is about it. I need decent wet traction and treadlife.

30k miles on a set of S02s! I'm impressed. I have maybe 30% left after 13k. (Of course there were a couple track days in there) In the dry weather here, S02s rock. They do suck in the rain, however.

I don't consider myself an extremely aggresive driver & I got 12k on the rear, and 17k on the fronts. BUT, they sure do hold the road.

sorry ....I realized I lied. My S has 30K but since I use snows in winter I have about 18K on the front S-02s. I always forget that I have to deduct winter miles !!

Anyway, I ordered new ones at dealer and they are being mounted and balanced Monday. Honda dealer couldn't believe Bridgestone dealer put my worn fronts on w/o noting the excessive wear. I'm kicking myself for not fully inspecting the summer tires I gave to him to install.

Learned my lesson, tried to save a few bucks by not going to Honda dealer. Been going there for 10 years...shoulda stayed the path.
