S02 Compound
I was scanning this forum and I think that I came across a topic that mentioned that the S02 tires lose all traction below a certain temp. I have been thinking about this for a while....could some please help explain this to me. I am under the impression that the compound that is used in the SO2's seems to get harder at a colder temp. and stickier at a warmer temp. Could someone please let me know if this is true, if so I must admit this is the first tire that I have used that I have actually felt the effects of the compound so drastically. Thanks in advance.

Around 32 degrees, I know that is freezing and that sounds pretty obvious, it just seems that with other cars that I have driven the tires didn't behave (drastically) that differently at, below, or above freezing. This is of course assuming no rain, ice, sleet or snow, just cold dry weather. Of course there is the huge chance that I am just WAY off on this.
You will loose about 25% at 32 degrees. That would be for acceleration and braking. You may not notice it but in an emergency situation you will. We did a test with snow tires at 32 against performance summer tires and even the snow tires handled better.
