Having the budget for the car doesn't mean having the budget for the car + another one for winter

I completely understand because I was at that crossroads once many years ago. I would not devalue one of these beautiful cars by 50% or less by driving it in the winter, not to mention the extra cost of service due to rusted components.

Certainly the OP can find a beater for a reasonable price close to his tire budget, I would look for a long term solution beyond that.

Just my way of thinking, rust and corrosion is the demise of all cars.
