Hi Folks,

I'm relatively new on this forum and an S2k owner wannabe! I've been lurking around this forum (great forum BTW!), trying to learn as much about the S2k as possible. I've never owned a car of the class and caliber of the S2k so there are aspects of it's performance and longevity that I've no experience with.

What prompts this post is reading that some of you are only getting around 10k miles (give or take) out of the tires. I know these are high performance tires and they're not going to last as long as the rubber on the family sedan but 10k miles seems "very" short.

My question is, how hard are you running the car to get this kind of mileage? While I'm sure that I'll "play" with the S2k from time to time, I consider myself to be a fairly conservative driver and had been assuming a tire life of around 20 to 25k for ths S2000 based on the experience of friends that are driving similar roadsters. You can see why a 10k mile tire life caught me a little off guard. I've test driven on S2k and am sold. This issue won't keep me from buying one. I'm just curious as to what kind of tire mileage you more conservative drivers (if any?) might be getting.

If you drive conservatively (which is tough in the S), you can get 10-12K miles out of the rears. The fronts will last about 20K miles.

So you could just replace the rears once before replacing all four. The OEM S02's for the S2K are very sticky tires, which give great performance but wear quickly.
