i could get a less performancey tire but make it wider and be just as good but cheaper. h
That is not a good idea. Your car is lowered, so for stock rims stick with OEM size (to avoid rubbing issues) and pick a tire that fits your needs (max perf., summer, all-season, etc.) and budget.

A 245 Ecsta LE Sport (~$136) or XS (~$143) will give you a lot more traction and better seering responce than a 265 Ecsta ASX (~$109).

"performancey" lol.

Dude, you have already diminished the performance of the S by lowering it, now you want to cram bigger tires on it. Someday you will realize the factory does know best.

You'll get a lot of BS comments, I suggest you learn to ignore comments and users you don't like. There's an "Ignore" button on the bottom of their posts.

Going to 255's in the rear is not a bad decision, it just might not be necessary for you. You should determine how you drive and such before wanting more rear tire. You have in theory more rear grip, but you will also increase understeer. 255's cost more than 245's, and you will have fewer tire choices at 255/40-17, than 245/40-17. Just a few other things to consider.

but he was asking about 265. not alot of choices in that area. but i think star specs come in that size. op, you have to realize, wide junk tires are not going to equal good slightly narrower tires in grip vs grip. say you either buy $161 star specs at 245/40/17, or Dunlop Direzza DZ101 and Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval at $132 to save extra dough at 265/40/17. both 265/40/17 are junk tires. for the level of grip i would rather spend 30 bucks more and get the star specs.

BUT!!!!!!!!!! on tire rack right now. the 245 and 265 are the same price. so if u wanted star specs it would even matter.

alright thanks guys. I just dont understand why people complain about other peoples posts, hell ignore it and hit the back button or at least thats what i do.

I think im just gonna go halfway and do a 255 i think, it doesnt cost too much more and it will do what i need since i dont track but i do like to drive aggressively sometimes.
