What is the 16x7 vs. 16x8? Also, the tires selected show different speed ratings for the front and rear????? The automatic selector picks 205's and 225's but shouldn't they be 225 and 245? I'm very confused as you can see.

The 7 & 8 is in inches and this is the width of the wheel from "bead" to "bead". I run 16 x 7" all around for my winter tires (stock sizes). I'm not that worried about this since they are for winter, "non-aggressive" driving only. If you're going to drive this to the car's full capabilities like on a track, the front will be 1/2" wider than stock (OK) and the rears will be 1/2" narrower than stock (not sure about the consequences of this). I think only the rear SO2's are in reality bigger than they say so you should be aiming for 245's. But the fronts, as far as I know are accurate at 205. Also, offset is important too. Mine are +44mm and they stick out of the wheel wells about 1/2" more than stock. So this would increase the car's "track" by about an inch both front and rear and again, I don't know how bad this would be if you drive the car near its limits.

Thanks. But why I'm confused is the Tirerack tire-finder-for-your-car deal comes back with the smaller size as the best fit. Guess I'll have to go the brick and mortar route and actually see for myself.
