Small Crack
how did you pay?
say you'll file complaint, or etc.
go at him politely(never works)
bash his name all over the site if he refuses, or threat to
he SHOULD pay for the whole wheel to be replaced since he fradulently sold them,
try and work something out.. u seem like a very easy going guy.. but this is just rediculous.. a cracked wheel is like not receiving a wheel at all. you can only use 3.. which is gay esp since it takes 3 months to get a RGII in stock
hopefully all goes well.
worst case be ruthless and be an ass

looking at the crack, it should leak when you have a tire on... the tire seals on a lower area, the cracked area just keeps the tire on the rim.
A fix by a good company should work, but you should keep checking it regularly during usage...

I honestly dont know if I would feel comfortable knowing that I am riding on a wheel that had a crack in it. If the wheel goes while driving I could total the car, and thats not worth the risk. I used paypal to pay for the wheels and glad I didnt agree with sending a money order as he wanted. It is starting to peice together that he knew more then he wanted to say, and I got the short end of the deal. I'll try to keep eveyone updated, and hopefully this wont get any worse then what it is. Thanks for everyones opinion.

I love to be told what to do and what not to do... basically he isnt willing to take the blame for it, well atleast the full blame.
"It is not road damage, the chips were caused by the tire mounting machine. I also have your pm that said the chips weren't bad and I also have recording of all my phone calls. This was not a concern at all. You can file a complaint w/ paypal but I will show them everything I have to prove it was not my fault and that it happened during shipping. Whether you can explain to ups how the damage occured is up to you. Paypal will mainly want a tracking number, which I have to prove that the wheels were shipped. I will show them your pm's saying that everything was good when you go them. I can blame the damage on you because of this, but I won't just yet as you've done to me. I will explain to them that it happened during shipping and it was not my fault. I have pictures that I took just before I shipped the wheels showing no cracks. If you want to go against me, as I said I will not help you any further. I think it is in your best interest to do what I have said. You can get money back and you can buy yourself a new wheel... or you could have this wheel repaired.. it's up to you. But like I said, if you file a complaint and go against me on this you will never be reimbursed.. I don't keep money in my paypal account and it is unlawful for them to take it from my account. So do as you wish."
I was never told about the chips on the rear wheel. I never sent a pm about the chips not being that bad, atleast not to my knowledge and I never said I was a damged wheel expert to back up my claim if I did say that the chips werent bad. I called UPS to file a damage claim, hopefully they will be nice enough to take the blame for this.

1) that is a stress fracture.. NO tire mounting machine can do that kind of damage to the inside of the wheel.
2) who is the seller? Sounds like a total ass to me.. it is obvious that the crack on the wheel was done before it is shipped.
3) how was the package when it arrived to you? Any dents dings? It takes a tremendous amount of force to crack a wheel like that.
4) You are no wheel expert so by you saying "everything was good" doesnt really mean much.
5) tell him to send the pics to you.. I would like to see these before pictures.

He is lying out of his ass.. those are CLEARLY curb markings no doubt about it. I have worked on a tire machine before and the only marks it really puts on wheels is slash marks.. nothing like that.

Who is the seller?
yes who is the seller, let us know so we can steer clear from him...
edit I think I have a pretty good idea of who he bought the rims from...just check the thread starter previous post and you'll find out....IF it is that guy he probably lied out of his ass about the wheels only being 500 miles old or he ****ed it up and decided to sell it....
