That is what I asked him, to pay for the wheel to get fixed if UPS doesnt take the claim. No word back from him yet, but that was just yesterday. I wanted that to be the final step I would take to get this fixed.

[QUOTE=cmrs2k]I talked with Boosted again last night, we are going to the shop that unmounted the wheel and going to get something in writing to say they held air and were not cracked.

where to begin? ..

i made a thread posting the wheels for sale explaining that one of the wheels had paint damage and that i was soon to get a new replacement wheel. carlos contacted me and wanted to buy them. once the new wheel came in i told him i was going to have the tire dismounted from the wheels. i dropped the wheels off at the shop and picked them up a couple days later (there was a delay because they told me their machine had messed up trying to mount a set of tires on a 22" rim.. but that's besides the point). as i was packaging them i noticed that the rear right rim had a small chipped area on the inside of the rim. there was no crack present at that time, just the chipped part. knowing that this was not a big deal and would not cause any problems at all concering appearance, structure, etc. i shipped them off. a few days pass and carlos sends me a pm stating that the wheels arrived to him and that he was pleased. a couple days later i get another pm from carlos telling me about the crack. at this point i told him i knew about the chips (which when i told him this he said "oh yeah, the chips are no problem since they're on the inside of the wheel") but that there was not a crack in the rim and that ups must have dropped the package and banged that section of the rim. i know it would be a strange coincidence.. but it happens. another thing i was concerned with was that carlos didn't cause the crack himself. how am i supposed to know if he didn't take the wheels to a tire shop and something happened to them then? it was infact 2 or 3 days after he received them that he made the complaint. all i know is that i'm 100% sure there was not a crack in the rim when it shipped out and i refuse to spend my money on something that i didn't do. i've offered any help that i can give through getting his money back from ups. there is not much else i can do.

as for the pics being resized.. yes i had to reformat my computer and lost photoshop. i tried uploading through imageshack and doing the automatic resize, but my pics are huge and even imageshack wouldn't do it. but like cmrs2k stated, i'm installing photoshop on my computer now and can resize the pics. but i'm not sure how much it will help since i didn't take pics of the actual chipped area.. just of the wheels.

i love how people jump to conclusions

I didn't see the chipped area before I dropped the wheels off to have the tires dismounted so I assumed the shop caused it. However, when I did notice them when packing the wheels there was not a crack. I've got two guesses at what happened..

1. ups dropped the wheel on that area and it caused the crack.
2. carlos caused the damage after he received the wheels. he waited a few days after getting the wheels to even inform me of the crack.

and the reason i was being so blunt in my pm's to him is because of how he first contacted me telling me about this. i responded to his attitude.
I don't know where you quoted yourself from, but if it wasn't for this thread, would you have come out and helped the gentleman with this issue?

I am not acusing you, I am just judging from my own experience---I was in the aftermarket autoparts importing business for 3 years, and at one point I was a vendor of the site too, the damage could not have been done by the shipping company. I have seen quite some damaged items during shipping, but nothing like the rim we saw in the pics. It took A LOT of force to crack the rim like that, and I personally don't think UPS could have done that.

I am glad you're now helping resolve this issue. I hope you guys can reach a resolution soon.

I agree with what most people have said in this post. A mounting machine and/or UPS "dropping" or "banging" the package cannot cause this type of crack. It's not physically possible.

I think your best bet would be to go through Paypal. I've used their buyer protection services before and they are pretty top notch. They can most likely get your money back.

Use the UPS opinion coupled with Paypal should get you somewhere.

Just make sure you file a dispute with Paypal and get that moving......
