Default SSR type C wheels size and offset

There are soo many different options. Which should i go with? Keep in mind I would prefer not to roll fenders, but I would like maximum contact patch to the ground and fit at least 225 front 255 rear tires. See possible combos below and my thoughts on each above it. Prices are based off of tirerack.com.

Most likely to fit without fender work:
17X8 +48mm front $1046 pair
17X9 +55mm rear $678 pair

Same stagger as stock ap2:
17X8 +48mm front $1046 pair
17X9.5 +65mm rear $1102 pair

Cheap and wide:
17X9 +55mm front $678 pair (will these fit without rubbing?)
17X9 +55mm rear $678 pair

Same offset as stock wheels, most contact patch:
17X9 +55mm front $678 pair (will these fit without rubbing?)
17X9.5 +65mm rear $1102 pair

#1. #3 if you want non-staggered, but you will have to roll the front fenders. I don't see any reason to run a 9.5 +65 over a 9" +55, especially with the price difference.

thanks for the advice. I have yet to decide whether i want stagger or non-stagger. stagger would definitely be easier (ie no fender roll) and i am not sure if traction to weight (of a larger wheel and tire in front) make it worth while or not. Plus the car would probably be pretty damn tail happy. On the other hand, I could always bump up the rear toe in to neutralize it a bit.

For those who run none stagger is it worth it? How wide of a tire can i fit with 17X9 +55mm on the front with a fender roll? Should i worry about rubbing the suspension?

Btw, I reason why i am strongly considering the 17X9.5 offset 65 is the ability to run as wide as 285 tire in the rear. Traction all day long on a 285

wheel fitment guide:
255 tires: +50 offset minimum (8.0

The problem is 275+ tire diameters are really limited in 17". There is no 275/35 available which is the best match for the stock diameter. You would have to run 275/40 or 285/40 which are oversized 1"+. I'd be tempted to roll the front fender and run 9" +55 all around with 245/40 f, 255/40 r tires. No worries about the suspension, should be plenty of room on that side.

Yeah agreed. After I made that comment i searched for tire, very difficult to find anything good over 255 in a 17. I am very temped to do the non-stagger that you are talking about. The 9" diameter wheels are on sale and way cheaper then the 8", I can probably use that savings to roll the fenders. I am just wondering if the car will become unbearably tail happy or just better plated.

Are you on stock suspension/alignment? A stiffer front sway bar will dial out the oversteer that comes with a slight or non-stagger tire setup. Nice choice of wheel, BTW.

Completely stock suspension. I here it is not recommended to swap out the sway bars on a stock suspension because it might become twitchy in handling. I am running ~ UK spec alignment.

Front (degrees)
5.5 caster
-1 camber
0 toe

Rear (degrees)
-2 camber
.38 toe-in
