Default Staggared diameter?

So i was wondering if how the handling would be affected if i ran 16x7 fronts with a 225 tire and 17x8/9 with a 255 rear tire. the reason being a complete lack of wide tires for the rear in the 16" size. Also im not interested if you think it would look stupid just how it would affect handling. Thanks

I've thought about using the AP1 rears up front and AP2 rears in back for a cheap track wheel setup.

Might look a bit goofy, though, as the front sidewalls will be a lot beefier than the rears (225*.50 = 112.5mm, 255*.40 = 102mm).

i have this setup on nsx wheels. you will understeer a lot and feel a difference in braking. feels like abs kicks in a lot sooner than it should have.

If you keep the tire diameter the same front to rear (225/50/16, 255/40/17) then you won't have any abs or braking issues. The handling won't be much different than running 225/255 on a regular 17" setup, maybe a little more sidewall flex in the front. Of course, it will look a little funny but you seem to be OK with that.
