Before I get into this, I don't want ANY flaming, alright? I don't have the money to drop on Volks or HRE's, so I went with Racing Hart C2 Evo's. They are 17x7.5 all around, and I was wondering if just putting staggered tires on, would help compensate for not having different width of rims. Could I run 205/50-17 up front and 235/45-17 in back on these rims and not lose much handling ability?

I have 7,5x17 with 215/45 front and 235/40 rear,it works just fine.
I have also driven my car on 2 track events this summer and i had no problems compared with the OEM wheels i used last year.

its been discussed a few times and even though the different tire sizes will help - its just not recommended. the reason for the stagger is to provide more track in the rear so its planted, or else, you dial in too much oversteer into the car - and in stock form, there is some oversteer setup already, even more - its just dangerous.

all I can suggest, watch out, and know your car's limits - push it in a parking lot, autox, or track event to know what it feels like to get the back end around. should be quite easy with your current setup.

not speaking of loss in traction. that would be with the compound and wear of the actual tire. not sure which kumhos you are running - it varys per model. if you are on victoracer R compounds, they will be very sticky and much better than the S02's, but if its something else.. well, not sure.

its just going to upset the balance of the handling of the car.
