Default Step lip work vs-xx's

Hello s2ki I have a set of 17" work vs-xx's with flat lips and I want to change them to step lips. I'm not exactly sure what all I need to do. Can I just buy 17" step lips and run those, or do I need to buy 18" barrels and then buy 18" step lips? Thanks in advanced

Hm well if the lip is 18 inches in diameter then yes you need the barrel to be matching otherwise the tire wouldn't mount right. Also be aware that you can possible change the offset of your wheels by changing the lip and barrel. The way I understand it using a step lip is usually to make a wheel an inch larger ie run an 17 inch face but have an 18inch wheel. I would contact a wheel refinisher like VRwheels or I think Rockstar garage does this as well and describe what you are trying to do.

But if I change the lip and barrel to the same size as they were just and inch bigger would that also change the offset?

step lip utilized a one in" smaller face. so your 17" reverse lip wheel will become a 18inch step lip wheel. If your wheel is step lip down then you have a 16inch face with a 17inch step lip and a 17" step barrel

Offset is only changed if you change the lip and barrel size (ie you have a 2inch lip now with a 7 inch barrel aka a 17x9. now you want a 3inch lip with a 6 inch barrel you will still be at 17x9 but the offset is now changed) if you get the same one with what you have now it will be the same. if you do sandwhich mount it will also change your offset. Theres alot that plays in with the factor of the offset. Google and read...youll learn alot

^This. Wheel diameter does not effect offset. Width and the hubs location in relation to the centerline of the wheel does.
