Default Taking apart a multi piece wheel

I've been thinking about polishing my lips on my LMs. Is it possible to take them apart with the tire still on since it's a 2 piece wheel? Would it matter if the tire is on even if I let the air out of them?

IT's best to dismount the tires before disassembling the wheels

I know its best to dismount a tire before dismantling a wheel. My question was it possible. The wheels is a 2 piece design, meaning the barel is 1 piece and then theres the center section. Even if the tire was off the barel the barel itself wouldnt expand with it on or off, it'll still hold its shape.

Its possible and perfectly do-able. Did it to a set of GT-C back in the days.
