17x10 +35 FTW!!!

I used to own 2 sets of Rotas, for Z and STi, they are nice.

but TE37s vs. Rotas? hm.. you can buy up to 5 sets of Rotas with that kind of $$

y would I be sacrificing handling if I go with 16x7? grip does not equal handling! less rotational mass though does so 16"= less mass=> less weight=>better handling

16 x7 all around?

This isn't a civic. What size tires would you put on...215s all around?

Stock AP1 sizes would work fine on 16x7 all around.
I'd still rather have 16x7 front and 16x8 rears, though. Oh yeah, I do

grip has a huge play in handling..your talking about rotational mass.. here the math

over diameter of a 16" wheel with the widest tire avalible is 255/50r16=26.04in when u can run a 255/40r17=25.03 so with a 17" wheel u have less rolling mass correct? now your gonna argue and not run a 255 but the 225/50r16 which has a 24.86in rolling diameter but then u loose 1.18in of width.. so u would save in rolling mass but loose in contact patch.. and that does effect handling.

a lot of guys that track there cars run 17x9 all around with a 255/40r17 tire.. that is optimum performance and with the proper fender work u can even daily drive on it.

sorry I meant everything else being equal wider contact path = more friction = better grip= better handling

umm... as far as I know a big contact patch just means more grip. I DO NOT WANT MORE GRIP. I will not track the car, just wanna have fun on the streets, some mountain passes, that's it. massive grip won't help me with anything i just want to run OEM sizes 205/225 and that would be fine with 16x7s I might go with 16x8 at the back since u guys insist you must know more than I do seeing how i just got my car

"Handling" can be a somewhat subjective term.

I tend to agree with the smaller/lighter wheels/tires for street usage. The car feels more sprightly and nimble, and you can get plenty of street grip with 205/225 tires.

At the track, more tire width for quicker lap times (generally, and to a point).
