Tire recommendations!
Hey guys, I have Federals currently on my car but hte rear tires are basically DONE. almsot lost control 3 times today due to rain. The front tires are in great condition and I dont want these tires again cuz i wasn't a very big fan of them.
anyone have any good tire recommendations for me? I need them ASAP so thanks for any feedback. Also, is it safe to have two different tire brands in the front and back?
PS: nothing more then 160 please, thanks

check out the wheels and tires section under special interest, there's a ton of info there and you'll probably have better luck getting information from members.
The best bang for your buck is probably the sumitomo HTR Z III, $83 fronts, $101 rears for AP2 sizes from tirerack.com
You mentioned rain so I'm not sure if you're looking for all-season high performance tires or not. I got the same problem, my rears are shot and it started raining here in Norcal so I need to find a set.
I currently have different tires up front and the rears. I don't think it's a problem, but I'm sure the handling characteristics can have an affect on the drive. Personally, I'd get the same all the way around just so they match and will have the same tread life.
good luck
