Default Tire size question on 17x9+65

Hi everyone
A friend of mine has just bought a set of wheels (volk te37) with these specs:
17x7.5+48
17x9.0+65

His car, like mine, is lowered on tein springs and oem shocks.

He wishes to fit 265/40/17 to the rear wheels .. Accorrding the offset calculator on this site, they should fit, but as far as I know, it assumes that the car is at stock ride height.
I already used the search but I found some conflicting info..
We definitely do not want to roll the fenders.. But adding negative camber to 2.5/3.0 is ok.
Any help would be appreciated because we would like to order the tires this week.

Also, what's the widest tyre we can fit on the front? On 17x7.5+48 without modification?

Thanks

I wouldn't go any bigger than 235/40 width tire in the front for the 7.5

265's will stick out quite a bit but still looks manageable. It's not the width you have to worry about, its how tall the sidewall is. 265/40 is a tall sidewall. Had 265/40 starspecs as my previous rear tires on a 9" wide wheel. I had to raise my rear 1/4-1/2" to clear my fenders due to a taller sidewall.

Here's a pic...

Hi, thanks for the reply and picture

Do you know what offset you had on those wheels?
We surely don't want them rubbing in rough roads or potholes..

Not trying to thread jack but I am wanting a similar setup. I want a 17x9 +63 with a 265/40/17. I don't have any problems rolling the rear if need be. What is the offset of the above car?

17x9 +45 all around

But add in another 5mm because that is how much more the tire is going to come out past the rim/wheel.

I got just a little rub in the rear with 265/40-17 star specs on stock wheels on a stock CR without rolled fenders.
