Thumbs up Tire Size question

Right now I have the HTRIII in 245/40/17 in the rear and they are not fitting. I need to find out what tire size I need to get to match my 214/45/17 up front. I know that I need a 225/XX/17 but I am not sure what size will work the best.

Possibly a 40 or 45 series?

Preferabbly I would like to have the HTRIII so I have matching tires.

Thank you!

the smallest I would go is a 235/40 in the rear but Im still not comfortable with that. are your 245's rubbing right now?

Definately. I have the Work XD9's in 17x8.5 +42 and they are sitting right on that lip with at least -2 to -3 degrees of camber since I lowered it. I dont' want to roll the rear fender lip in fear of cracking the paint, so my buddy suggested getting a smaller tire which would make it fit, but I am not so thrilled about getting a smaller tire as I just spent the money on these from Tirerack.com .

problem with getting ill-fitting wheels.

roll the fender with someone experienced in your area.

how do you like the tires otherwise? considering these and falken fk452.

I would say if you go narrower it would be a 225/45R17 or you can go with the shorter 235/40R17. The 235 would be .6" shorter than stock but should not rub with the negative camber.
I would look into the fender lip roll myself. Just have them heat the paint up before rolling.
