Default Tire Size Recommendation for 18" wheels

Hi all,

I need to replace my rear tires but I forgot what size the tires were since I already took the tire off the wheel. Current tires on the S are Bridgestone Potenza s0-3 pole position.

Front Tire Size: 225/40ZR/18 88Y
Back Tire Size: 255/35Z/R18 (I think this was the size I had on)

What should my rear tire size be?

Also, I'm going to be lowering my car 1" do you guys think it will rub?

thanks

I have 255/35/18 with 1 small asian finger gap in the back. Only rubs on unexpected bumps or dips. Now it seems to rarely rub. I think i have 7.5 or 8"wide wheels in the back

It depends on the width and the offset of the wheels. The 255/35R18 or 245/35R18 would be the two best sizes.
If I can help with the tires let me know.

sorry to hijack thread,

but what if one was to run 245/40/18 for the rears?
its bigger in diameter by like 25mm? when compared to stock ap1 sizes.
does that make any notable difference? in braking and accel?
