Default Tires for stock ap1 rims

I've been reading alot lately about tires for the ap1. I just bought the car and it came with some avs es 100s. i have no idea why because the car only has 17k miles but it did. And theses are prolly the worst tires I've ever had. So my question is what size and brand of tire should I go with. I'm thinking a 225 up front...not sure on the sidewall though. and a 245/45 in the rear. and i've been lookin at the potenza s03 mainly and possibly pilot sports. i looked into the kumho mx as well because they have always been a favorite tire of mine but they only make a 205 and 225 in the 16. Does anybody have any experience with any other tire on the stock rim they could give me some insight on? Thanks in advance.

Less than 17k is not out of the ordinary for the rears, especially from S02's. The RE50's that come on AP2's have fared better in tread life, but 15-20K is expected for S02's.

Thanks that's good to know. Do you have any advice on some tires other than the S02?

I have the Hankook RS2 225/50 front and 245/45 rear. Not as grippy as stock, probably won't last much longer than stock, but are much better in the wet. At the time they were less than half the price of the OE Bridgestones, not sure if they are still. I believe the Tire Rack has a sale on the S-02.

Then definitely don't take this guy's advice and put different tires on the front and back.
