Track Tires
I have read through five pages of posts and not found an answer to my question, which is: What are the best tires for track use? I want to have maximum grip and performance at the track and still be able to drive to and from the track on the tires. I currently have SO3's on my 16"OEM rims and T1S's on new 17" rims. I want to sell my SO3's and put track tires on the OEM rims.
I would expect to not be driving in the rain much, if at all, with these tires.
Thanks for your opinions!

Does anyone know how the Khumo Ecsta V700's do at the track? I've used them for autocross and they get warm pretty darn fast. I'm affraid I might overheat them on the track...specifically, Laguna Seca. Khumo says they are for autocross and track but I'd like to hear from someone who has tried or know of anyone firsthand who has tried them on the track.

I tried them and didn't like them ....... they drive like the sidewall are really soft (I don't know if they actually are soft but they felt overly so).
Didn't have any heat problems with them however.
