Default Trying to decide-anyone?

Hello gang!

Re: 2002 S with stock rims!

Sadly, my S0'2 need to be replaced. I've always wanted a wider stance than the 225's the rear's came with. I would like to go with perhaps 245's on the rear and maintain the 205's for the front (don't want to screw up the handling).

I never race my car at the track, but, on the rare occasion, may push her a "little." I do not winter drive her either. Driving in the rain is important so I need a little traction there.

I've been considering (given the rear tire size I want-re: appearance), Fuzion ZR1's, GoodYear F1' and Bridgestone RE 750's.

Thought's on any of the above gang? Either the wider tires and/or selection?

All comments are appreciated.

Rob.

245's in the rear are going to be the same size as stock. Check the FAQ at the top of this forum for explanation.

If you like to stay with 205/55R16 front and 245/45R16 rear, GoodYear F1 is not available. Avon Tech M500 is better than Fuzion ZRi on wet road and cost only $20 USD more than ZRi. The tread wear is a little lower at 280 to 320 for ZRi

Like the others have said, you need 245 in the rear anyways if going non-S02. then the decision comes down to price/performance/wear, and you can't have all 3. The cheapest performance tire is the hankook RS2, but it wears nearly as quick as the S02.

In driving the tires I like the RE750 for performance and ride quality with longer wear. I have used them for two years and the still look new.
If I can help let me know.

Thanks everyone!

Jim, can I use 255's on the rear (any size that gives me a contact width larger than what the s02's currently give me-since the 225's on the S02's apparently are the same as 245's on other brands?????????)

Thought's anyone?

Thanks for all comments posted.

Rob.

It is very few tires in the size 255/45R16, there is none available on tire rack. I think the width of AP1 rear is 7.5" and it is barely fit 245/45R16. Assume that you can find 255/45R16, it is not safely fit on 16x7.5" wheel.
