Default Tyre Set Up on 17' Wheel

Hi All,

Im looking to check what is the best set up for my AP1.

When I bought it the previous owner was running 205/40/17 front and rear. They are on rota torque drift alloys. I am unsure of the alloy wheel width.
The tyres that were on it were slightly stretched and I am not happy with the grip in corners etc.

I recently went to my local tyre fitter and they refused to put different size tyres on it as it was "risking a blow out"Can someone please advise of the safest but widest set up I could have and also any reccomendations on tyre brands is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

That tire size is way too narrow and the diameter is too small. It's hard to say what tire size to run without the wheel specs, but I would say OEM AP2 at a minimum - 215/45 front and 245/40 rear.
