You can't put rear wheels on the front because the rears have a smaller hub bore.

i'm hearing conflicting information regarding the setup below

Front: 17x9 et42 w/BF Goodrich 225/45-17
Rear: 17x10 et50 w/BF Goodrich 255/40-17

some say minor rubbing in the rear once lowered, others say rubbing both front and rear. i'm running stock suspension on an ap2...and will be dropping the car in the winter time.

your help would be greatly appreciated

According to my research (the results of which are in the first post of course) the rear would be OK but the front needs about 10 mm more offset.

Cars vary a bit, so this is a guideline.

When you lower it, if you go back to stock alignment, it could increase rubbing. When you are at the ragged edge of low offsets, you may have to add camber to prevent rubbing. Or, roll fenders.

Cheers,
Ken

I have the same exact setup except mine are 8 front & 9.5 rear. Trust me they will rub front & back. Not saying you shouldn't run it though.

I have -2 camber front & rear with a 1" drop & they rub front & rear. I'm getting my fenders rolled next weekend & it will take care of it. I like the setup & it will work once my fenders are rolled, but it won't work unless you are willing to run some neg. camber & roll the fenders.

I would suggest running a 8" front & 9-9.5 rear with those tire sizes. My 8 with 225 is barely streched & my 9.5 255 rear is midly streched (mind you i have Falken Azenis 615's that run a bit wide as well. Your 9 & 10 will be quite streched.

215f and 245r should fit. But 225 and 255 is really pushing it with those offsets.

Tell your alignment guy to do some reading, cuz he's nuts.

Minimum means minimum offset. Higher numbers move the wheel in, away from the fender lip. The S2000 needs higher offsets than most cars.

I am looking at these wheels.

Kosei K1 TS

Offset: 50mm Backspacing: 5.98" Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size:205/50-17
Weight: 13.7lbs.

Rear Fitment
17x8

Offset: 45mm Backspacing: 6.26" Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size:225/45-17
Weight: 15.4lbs.

Tirerack says that these will fit. But I want to put 225 tire on front and a 255 on the rear. I want to put these tires on.

Kuhmo Ecsta MX 225/45
Kuhmo Ecsta MX 255/40

I am a little confused because an alignment guy told me that a +36 offset for the fronts would fit better. This doesn't make any sense to me. Does the "minimum" mean further from centerline or closer? Thanks.
I made a mistake. I said +36 for the rears. I meant fronts.

+36 for the front is even worse. Even a 205 would rub.

Thanks. When would rubbing on the suspension be a concern? Has anyone seen an offset that rubs the suspension and around what offset would this happen? +70?
