[QUOTE=spa-zz,Apr 2 2009, 06:07 PM] I can't speak for lowered cars. I wrote the info in the first post based on cars at normal height.

Let me copy the data here from the first post:

For the front:
205 tires: +43 offset minimum (6.5

I guess, if you want a skinny tire on a wide wheel. But why not use a wider tire, for more grip?

well heres the story:
i want to put white work xd9 wheels on my ap2. i want a really nice lip in the back like this guy has:
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/2277/img5837ryu6.jpg

and so technically i would need 9.5 wide wheel for a nice lip
according to this:

http://www.workwheelsusa.com/media/wheels/...0XD9%20Spec.pdf

so if i were to run a +44 offset on a 9.5 wide wheel i would have to put 235 if i dont want to rub. im planning on rolling my fenders thought, and i have tein springs which drop my car an inch

The problem is that a 265/40 is quite tall, about 3/4" taller than the proper size for the rear of the car. Best to stick with the 245/40 and run the 215/45 in front.

They don't say what the offset is for the front, so we can't be sure if a 225 would rub or not.
right it is taller but according to the chart it fits is my point and the front is a 17x7 +49 and they said the 225 will fit fine and according to this chart that isn't true? i cant stick with a 245 im looking at making 500+whp i need bigger

yes, i am willing to go more for looks than performance, even though i have a bit of a lead foot sometimes.

i have a bit of negative camber in the rear due to the drop. i think that plus rolling fenders should make it safe for 245 in rear. correct?

ive been reading this thread from the very beginning for a couple hours. it amazes me how much knowledge you have about this subject. its a good thing youre around, without you a lot more people would be rubbin lol.

The chart doesn't specify tire aspect ratios. By your logic, a 235/70 would fit. No, it does not fit. It is too tall. More likely to rub.

The chart is a guideline, not a law. Every car is a little different, every tire brand/model is a little different. The chart came from real cars, real people, with real experiences with successes and failures, on this very forum. We're talking about a few millimeters here. Sometimes you just have to try it out.

You need wider, not taller.

Well, if you have actually added additional negative camber, it may help. If you are just talking about the negative camber you have gained just by lowering, then that won't help you. Think about it - what you have there is no different than what you get when you hit a bump. Now that you have reduced your suspension travel, you have increased the chance of rubbing, not reduced it. I hope I explained that adequately. Your rolled fenders may help, or may not... because the top of the tire may actually impact the top of the fender liner.
