Hey guys,
Car is a 2005

So a little reason before you guys read my post so you can determine if you even want to help me or not. Car is my daily driver. I like Form > Function, but not at the EXPENSE of Function. I plan on doing about 3-5 track days this year with maybe a sprinkling of Auto X in the middle. In between Auto X and Track days i generally like to drive the mountain twisties that are near me on the weekends.

So looking to order wheels and tires soon. I had a few questions. FULL DISCLAIMER: I have read the wheel guide, and i'm going to be honest, i still have no idea what offsets i'm allowed to run on stock suspension. I've read anywhere from between +41 with fender rolling to +55 with zero fender roll to +61. Still confuses me and i still have no idea what fits.

Wheels i will be ordering soon. Volk TE37 Saga. I'm planning on 17x9.5 +41 That was a number i got for a wheel that another member on this forum runs. I do plan on rolling my fenders as i will be getting BlackTrax to do that for me. However my question is, will fender rolling be enough? Or would i be safer running a higher offset. I do not mind going higher if it means less rubbing, however i like to see how much concave i can get. I will be running 255/40/17 square setup

Now as far as tires go. I'm stuck between the new Dunlop Z3 and the Hankook RS4. Has anyone driven on the new Z3 Dunlops? How is it to drive around town? On the track? I have experience with the Hankook RS4 as my friend ran them on his FRS and i took his car through some nice twisties once. Good feeling tire, nice grip, stiffer sidewall compared to the Sumitomo HTR ZIII i was running on my BRZ. I kinda know what i'm getting. However my friend (who has an AP1) swears by his Dunlop Direzza Z1 and is pushing me towards the Dunlops as they are the latest version. Any ideas or opinions would be great.

looking at another thread in this section it looks like maybe 17x9 +61 squared might be the best way to go? I am looking for decently flushed fitment.

Hey! Reading through the OP. Volk Racing does not make a 17x9.5 +41 TE37 SAGA wheel. The closest would be 17x9.5 +38 which on stock fenders would require a roll/flare in front and also a roll / bumper tab relocation in the rear with at least 3 camber all around. So not sure that is the fitment you are looking for.

Reading your 2nd post 17x9.0 +61 would be the way to go if you want an easier fitment and dont really want to touch your fenders. You can run that setup with a 255/40 all around and to be safe, just pushing up the front fender tabs so it doesnt catch your tire under heavy loads while turning.

As for the tires, those are good choices. What is super popular for the S2000 as well are the Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R, may want to look into those as well!

17x9 +61 is the easiest as on stock suspension you don't need to touch the fenders.

17x9.5 +41 is doable but the front will require a pull and at stock height its going to look goofy IMO. The fronts will look far more pushed out than the rear.

Have you considered the Wedsport TC105's? They make both the TC105N and TC105X in 17x9 +49 which at stock height should be ok without a roll (keep a close eye on the fronts for any signs of rubbing especially during track events). They will be more flush without being to aggressive and if you ever did lower the car you would only need a fender roll no major pulling or anything. With these you would have the choice of 245 or 255 all around or you could do 225 front and 255 rear.

I double checked with my local shop and they recommended 17x9 +55 for good fitment and minor fender work. Especially on stock suspension. Im checking with my Wheel hookup to see if I can get the TE37 Saga or SL in that size.

Anyone have any opinions on the Hankook RS4 vs the Dunlop Z3? Has anyone driven on the new Dunlops yet?
