Wheel studs
I broke a front wheel stud today and I do not have a press or special tools to change it. I'm going to take it to the shop and have them do it even though I hate letting people work on my stuff, but besides that anyone have a rough guess on how much that will cost?
A shop will need to remove the spindle and press the bearings out.
You'll need new bearings and maybe a new hub. Buy these parts from Honda.
Parts would be maybe 250-300. Buy them from hondapartsnow.com or similar.
Labor is maybe $200-300 to remove the spindle, press, re-press etc.
Your alternative options:
-buy a clip head wheel stud. Rotate the hub to the most advantageous position. See if it will fit past the hub carrier. If it doesn't, then grind some material off the stud first. If more is needed, grind as little from the hub carrier as possible. You don't need a press to install a stud. You can use a FLAT faced nut/lug nut and an impact.
-Or buy an entire good used spindle from eBay.
For future success, never ever use anti sieze or any lubricant on lug studs. And always use a torque wrench.

To remove your busted stud, try to use a lug nut press (rent or buy). Or rig one up with a c-clamp.
Use a hammer and punch to bang it out as your last resort. Try to support the back of the hub whilst doing this.
