Default Widest tire on a 7" rim?

I was wondering what the widest tire i could go with on a 7" wide rim...I came upon a set of 17x7" wheels (offset is 48) and what sizes everyone recommended for a staggered set up...i am aware that the offset is incorrect, but my car is used for daily driving (home-work-school) on 6 days a week...thanks

On a 7" rim the widest recommended width would be 225.

Anything bigger say 235 or 245 is recommended minimum of a 7.5" rim.

thanks for the reply...i was looking into getting a 225 tire in the rear and a 215 up front for a "somewhat" staggered set up...what "height" should i go with up front and rear? 50 and 45 or 45 and 40? thank you

45 up front and 40 rear. I would rather invest my money on "proper size" set of wheels..........

But, if you insist on 7" all around, try 205/50 and 225/45.

With 17" wheels the aspec ratio should be 45f and 40r. You will be ok with the 215/225 combo...

The 205/50R17 and 225/45R17 would be your best bet on the 17X7 all the way around. You keep a similar stagger to stock and the same height front to rear.
If I can help let me know.
