Default Widest tire for front wheel?

I have a wheel thats 8.5" in the front and I was wondering what would be the widest I could go without rubbing while dropped a bit. The offset is high. I was specifically wondering if I could run 245/40. I have 225/40 ordered but I would like to get some more rubber in front if I can pull it off with a 1.5" drop.

I would not go wider than the 225/40R18 on the front.

Since you didnt give an offset, then any answer to the question would have to be regardless of offset... wouldnt it???

Your statement makes no sense.

ok... Ill break it down.

(1) You did not give an offset in the first post and asked what size tire would work

(2) You got an answer

(3) You then asked, "is said answer from (2) regardless of offset

(4) the word regardless means "without regard for"

(5) I stated that, since your question in (1) did not specify an offset, then any answer given throughout the post (like the answer in (2)) would have to be "without regard for offset" as we have been given no offset to regard.

Make sense now?
