Default Another does it work thread.

Hello. going through some of the threads here is what I come up with.

17X8 with an offset of 50 something with a 225 tire front
17X9 with an offset of 63 or so with a 275 tire in the rear.

Has anyone used this combo?
Does this combo look about right for proper tire offset to you?
Will a 275 fit in the back or should I stick with a 255?
Any recommended users for proper offset?
Do you think I will need to roll fenders?

Thanks
In advance
-Chris

Not sure what you mean by "tire offset." Do you mean wheel offset or tire stagger?

225/255 would be about right, 275 is a little wide for the rear if you're using a 225 in front.

If you use the 225/255 you shouldn't need to roll your fender with those wheel offsets. The front will be close though.

Spa,
Thanks for posting. Yes I meant the wheel offset. I am going to be running 400+daily and 500+for fun in whp. So I was thinking the bigger the better. But if I can't go over 225 in the front then 255 will have to do in the back. I just wanted to get the largest size I could in the back but stagger is important for this car.

Anyone go larger in the front?

Thanks
chris

Glad I could help.

If you are concerned about straight-line handling (drag racing) then sure, put some big fat rollers in the rear. It will most likely make the car understeer with 225s in the front. However, you won't be able to fit anything wider than 225 in the front with that offset.

I don't know if 275s in the rear would rub or not. Sorry.

Cheers.

Thank you for the help you can give. Looks like I will try the 225 front and the 255 rear and see what happens. Thanks
