Default Yet Another search for S2000 Wheels

So help me out here. I've been searching for wheels for some time now: (apparently buying proper wheels for the S2k is like shopping for a one legged man at a buy 1 get one free shoe sale) However I have found a set of wheels which a "wheel Expert" is saying will fit. Which leaves me with 2 specific questions for all you non bias wheel experts out there:

1.) What do you know about Raiden Wheels (specifically the D1R)

2.) With the following setup on a 2002 S2000 will I have any trouble with the wheels rubbing or need any modifications ie camber/ fender rolling?:

17x7 +40 offset or 17x8 +45 offset in the front
17x9 +48 offset rear (requires shaving a couple MM of the wheel to get the wheel to fit per the expert)

the wheels come in either matte black or silver. My car is yellow with a carbon fiber hood and black emblems on the side. Any and all comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Are you lowered? What do you mean by "shaving" the wheel?

Finding wheels is not really very difficult at all for this car. Shave the wheel?? Just roll the fenders and no more concerns. Dont know anything about Raiden wheels but I don't know a whole lot about wheels however. Look like they are cheapo wheels.

Im not lowered yet but eventually I would like to...as for shaving the wheel (it comes with a stock +43 offset but in order to make the 9 inch wide rear wheel fit the S im being told they can shave 5mm off the wheel to make a +48 offset)

Not once lowered. Will rub in the back. Would have to find a place to roll the fenders. Very easy and fast to do if they know what they are doing. Relocate the rear bumper tabs as well.

17x9 +45 would have to roll the fenders and some negative camber once lowered.

I agree though. Can get the 949 racing wheels 17x9 and 17x10 that fit without any rolling with a really nice wide tires all around. Pretty cheap too!

Not really a big deal when he's considering doing that plus having a lower offset wheel shaved. Can't be too many people out there you'd trust to do that (ie = expensive to do right)
