Default Yokohama A048

I have never run Yokohama R-Compound before....but every other one I use (Kumho, Toyo..)I shaved them for track use...I am consider getting Advan A048 plus I still drive my car to and from the track

Anybody know if they need to be shaved or heatcycled before use? I know they come with 6/32" but I just don't know if it will overheat and chunk when not shaved for dry track use. I don't care about wet days since I usually skip em or I just run on street tires. Anybody have experience with them on the track?

Oh (for non-A048 related), have Kumho ECSTA V700 been discontinue in 225/45-17, I just saw it on tirerack website like 2-3 weeks ago...check today and it is no longer offer in that size...?

TireRack recommends that you shave them to 3-4/32nds, but they are plenty good at 6/32nds. They come OE on the Lotus Elise sport package. If you're just open tracking, I'm sure shaving will be unnecessary.
