Default Your tire choice in this situation

Ok,

So I'm looking for tires (duh). What I woudl like to get some feedback on is the hands down best tire for the stock AP1 wheels in wet/dry situations.

Treadwear doesn't matter and neither does cost.

I've heard the RE01Rs are good in dry but not so hot in the wet stuff.

I'm also considering the advan Neova AD07s. Tirerack has a lot of info but I'd like to narrow it down a bit to just the s2k guys.

Sorry if this thread is redundant or if i could have solved it by searching but I'm kinda busy here at my desk and i cant be slacking off on s2ki all the time like other people

Thanks in advance guys!

oh PS right now my car has potenza G009's out back and Westlake tires up front. These are what the car came with off the lot. Are these decent tires?

I've never heard of westlake but they're brand new and im not complaining since i don't plan on driving it like a madman for a while.

If you're not tracking and doing street 90% of the time, I wouldn't bother with getting the RE01Rs or anything like that. RE050 PP is a pretty decent tire that is great in the dry and decent in the wet. I bought some sumitomo HTR ZIII recently and very impressed by the wet and dry performance so far.

No you would have to get the 225/50/16 rear and 205/55/16 front. Which is fine on this high of quality of tire, with crap tires you would want the 245 rears at least. Same dilemma I was in, if money is no object get the REO1R, best for dry grip.. if you need more wet handling the RE050PP may be better

Good Year Eagle F1 All seasons!!!!!! They are great in the rain and dry. Even snow, and they are pretty quiet. Almost no road noise!

why would you run 225 x4?? 225 is too narrow for the rear isnt it?

RE050A Pole Position would be my first choice.
Hankook RS2's are cheaper and likely almost as good for less $$$ (that's what I got for my Summer tires btw).

225 is not "too narrow for the rear".

Death to the stickie!
