Default non stagger 18x8.5 tire question

hi guys,

i.was wondering if it was possible to run 18x8.5 with 45 mm offset all around but use 225 width in the front and 245 width in the rear. reason i would do this is because i already have the wheels from a while back and would like to out them to good use. would anything rub with stock alignment?

Keep in mind, the profile of the 225/40 up front will be taller/thicker sidewall then the rear 245/35. You would want a 255 in rear to match it. Since you will want to roll your rear fenders to clear with stock alignment, it really wont matter either way if its a 245/255. The front 225 will be fine without a roll if your not lowered a bunch. If you don't want to roll anything then you will need to run more aggressive camber, about -2 up front and -2.5 out back.

you could probably run a 245 or 255/35/18. you mine as well reap the benefits of a non-staggered fitment over staggering the tires

you mean 245 in the front? wouldn't the 245 rub? I've heard that running non stagger setup on the s2k throws the balance out of whack and you get really tail happy. since stock runs 225 in the fronts and 245 in the rear there's a gap that i'd like to maintain to keep the understeer and oversteer in check.

Stock runs a 215 up front for all years. 255 in back for CR models. All years run 7" front, 8.5" rear rims fyi. If your looking for an accurate base to work from. You could technically run any size rubber you want up to 255 with those wheel specs, considering my previous post on fender mods and camber adjustment.

oh i was wrong about that. but the ap1 has narrower wheel sizes than the ap2 though i know. i just realized that the hub bore won't fit so i'm going to have to scratch this idea

Yes sorry, I was just going off of 04+

Ap1 wheel sizing is so outdated I find it rather irrelevant to base off, when S2000 made the update to something more reasonable in 04 for basically the same chassis. But 00-03 are 16" With 6.5" front 205, Rear 7.5" 225.
