Chicago pt. II
I did the search to see what other people chimed in, but it seemed people wanted to go bar hopping/clubbing, wanted other suggestions.
The mrs. will be in Il for the summer for an internship through Walgreens' Managed Care program. I helped her get settled in over the memorial weekend and was able to go sightseeing for a day in downtown (she's staying up in Lake Bluff, while the corporation's office is in deerfield). We definitely would be taking public transportation into downtown, so we'll probably be walking around again.
We got through the architectural boat ride (Welleken?, can't recall the name), the Sears Tower skydeck, Millenium Park, United Center (had to see the statue of MJ). I'll be making a second visit in mid-july for apprx 5 days (much more time). I know one place i MUST visit (Art Institution) it houses my favorite painting! outside of that, i've got recommendations to check out:
Shedd's planetarium
Chinatown
sporting events (maybe cubs game? sox game?)
any other nice landmarks?
(we'll be going up to Wisconsin as well, so if you're knowledgeable there too, that be great!)
shopping centers (unfortunately, yes, we were told to go to northbrook)
Also, food suggestions are a must! We tried out Giordano's for Pizza, Pot Belly? for sandwiches, and Portillo's? for dogs. any more options? I heard that Jimmy's Red Hot is a great place for dogs, as wells as Hot Dougs?
thanks for all your help and input!

It was "Wendella" boat tours.
Navy Pier
Museum of Science and Industry
Field Museum
Adler Planetarium
For food:
Heaven on Seven (cajun.)
Smith and Wolensky (Steak, it's expensive, but it's EXCELLENT.)
Gino's East for Pizza
Ed Debic's diner (for the "atmosphere." )
Let us know when you are here, we can plan a meet in Milwaukee and hit the Safehouse. It's the coolest bar, EVER. A great place to hang out with friends.
