wouldn't need it until May/June time. Going to be flying up to Chicago tomorrow, need to see if I can set up a time to see the place though. Only problem is I'll be down in Peoria for most of the week.

saw Garrison's place last time i was in town. Great location! I'll be in town again next Thursday and Friday (Feb 24th + 25th) and needed more places to look. Also if anyone is interested in going to Chicago Indoor to run Karts next Thursday night, let me know...that's what I'm planning on doing.

Garrison, thatd be great. I was planning on going to Addison, I really like their food there
Didn't look at this thread until now (it's semi slow at work today and I'm not particularly motivated).
Anyway, I live, literally, across the street from Garrison. I really like the neighborhood because it's really the only place in the city where I feel comfortable (financially and otherwise) having 2 cars. Street parking, isn't easy but a lot easier than most other neighborhoods. Relatively safe. And there's underground parking as well. I'm currently renting out my underground garage spot for $150 per month while the S2000 stays in a 2 car garage a few blocks away (that I'm renting for $185 a month). I forget when my current tenants lease is up, but if they choose not to renew and you move in with Garrison or to the neighborhood, I'd love to have an S2000 owner down there. Garrison and I help each other out pretty regularly with rides/maintenance/mods and it would be great to have a 3rd person in the mix.
The thing I don't like about my area - not that close to a train stations or walking distance to lots of fun stuff. There are good restaurants and bars nearby, but not like if you lived in bucktown, wicker park, lakeview, wrigleyville, lincoln park. Those are the locations though that I wouldn't want to have 2 cars (or would need to given proximity to train stations).
My friends in those areas rarely use their cars, use the train to get everywhere they can't walk, and have lots of options for restaurants and bars to walk to. I, on the other hand, like drive to work (free parking) and anywhere else I need to go. I can also bike to the lake or grant/millenium park. When I need to get to the airport I'll walk the 1.3 miles to the blue line stop to get to o'hare or hop on the redline stop near my work when flying out of midway. That blue line stop isn't close enough for me to walk to every day though.
I would suggest looking on craigslist for garages to rent. Then looking on craigslist to see what apartments are nearby. Since you'll have a company car, also consider renting a garage near the highway and just drive to it when you need to (that's what I did for a little over a year).
If I were 23 and wanted to live in the city, I would look in the neighborhoods I mentioned above. Also West loop or greektown. I'd stay away from places too north, south, or west since those areas tend to be not as nice (it's all patchy though) or far from the whole downtown feel. I'd say wrigleyville/lakeview is probably the area for a 23 yr old professional but it is too hard to hop on to the highway imo. I think lincoln park or bucktown/wicker park is a good middle ground.
We can talk about this when you come to town too.

Bump. Any more info? Shooting for a July move in. Probably going to need space for two personal vehicles and company car. Burbs it is... Or a nice big storage unit. Any suggestions?
