Thinking about it more, I think the real problem I have with the sammich is calling it "tofu steak." If they just called it "grilled and marinated tofu" I'd have less of a problem with it.

I suppose that is a valid point -- all about the perception. Though, 'Breaded and Deep Fried Tofu' doesn't quite have the same health-food ring that 'Tofu Steak' does. Marketers run this world, I tell ya.

Official name is: Joey's Fabulous Tofu Steak Sandwich

So some good news for me as of late. A few days ago as I was talking to HR, he mentioned that my immediate supervisor told him to give me as much time as I needed (for my dads funeral) and to do "whatever it takes to not loose him" (me). I have only been working here for 2 months at this point. I worked that comment into a conversation and my supervisor confirmed it.
Yesterday, when talking with payroll, I was told that the company had a grievence policy. After 3 months mployment, employees are entittled to 3 days paid leave for funeral. I did not meet the requirement of 3 months employment but the company exec VP and CFO both bypased that requirement to grant me the grievence pay.
I am getting better from this cough. I am feeling better emotionally. The kids are coughing less and Sonia is done with her PMSing. things ARE getting better. Thank you everyone for the well wishes and prayers these past few weeks.

Glad to hear that Phong -- you certainly deserve it! Happy you won't have to take too big a financial hit for taking the time you needed away, and twice as happy that everyone's health is improving.
